Solopharm took part in the international exhibition Pharma West Africa 2026, which was held from April 14 –16 at the Landmark Centre on Victoria Island in Lagos – one of the largest economic hubs in West Africa.
The company was represented as part of a collective stand of pharmaceutical enterprises from Saint Petersburg, with support from the Trade Representation of Russia in Nigeria, the Committee for External Relations of Saint Petersburg, and the Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation, and Trade of Saint Petersburg.
Pharma West Africa is one of the largest specialized pharmaceutical exhibitions on the African continent and a key platform for developing international cooperation in the region. In 2026, the event brought together more than 250 exhibitors and around 4,500 professional visitors from over 50 countries worldwide. The exhibition featured national pavilions of China, Turkey, Bangladesh, Egypt, as well as an exposition by the Government of Saint Petersburg.
The key audience of the exhibition consisted of pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, importers, representatives of pharmacy chains, and wholesale companies. Approximately 43% of visitors were importers and distributors of pharmaceutical products, and about a third were representatives of the retail segment. Participating countries included Ghana, Benin, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Cameroon, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, and other states in the region.
During the exhibition, Solopharm representatives held negotiations with potential partners and distributors, discussed prospects for product registration, and explored opportunities for export cooperation in the markets of Nigeria and West Africa.
Interest in the region is driven by the active growth of the pharmaceutical market. According to industry estimates, the Nigerian market volume in 2025 was about USD 1.84 billion, with a projected average annual growth of more than 6% until 2029. Meanwhile, the share of imported products in consumption reaches 60–70%. The West African market is even more import-dependent, with the region's reliance on imported pharmaceutical products reaching 70–95%.
Comment from the Solopharm Press Center
«The African region is currently one of the most dynamically growing pharmaceutical markets in the world. For Solopharm, participation in Pharma West Africa is an opportunity to establish direct professional dialogue with industry representatives, discuss prospects for local cooperation, and present modern Russian pharmaceutical technologies on an international platform.»
