Solopharm and the Russia – Cuba Business Dialogue

On June 4, Solopharm representatives took part in the business dialogue «Russia – Cuba: Cooperation in Times of Turbulence. Investments, Tourism, Technologies,» held at Saint Petersburg State University as part of the business programme of the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Solopharm was represented at the event by Executive Director Andrey Romanyuk and Deputy General Director for Export Sales Oleg Lazarenko.

The business dialogue was organised by the Russia–Cuba Business Council and the National Committee for the Promotion of Economic Cooperation with Latin American Countries (NC SESLA). The venue was the historic Twelve Collegia building of Saint Petersburg State University.

The event brought together representatives of government authorities, business, and the expert community of Russia and Cuba to discuss the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation amid the transformation of the global economy and international trade.

The Cuban delegation was headed by Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the Republic of Cuba. The dialogue was also attended by Michael Cabrera Laza, Director of Servicios Médicos Cubanos; Alejandro Saúl Padrón Yaquis, Director of the BioCubaFarma Representative Office in the Russian Federation; and other representatives of government structures and businesses of the Republic of Cuba. The discussion was moderated by Azer Talybov, Chairman of the Russia–Cuba Business Council.

The participants focused on the development of trade and economic ties, investment cooperation, and collaboration in the fields of tourism, industry, healthcare, and high technologies.

For Solopharm, participation in such international platforms is an important part of its work to develop long-term cooperation with foreign partners and to strengthen the professional dialogue in the field of healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

The Latin American region remains one of the promising areas of international engagement. During the event, the participants discussed current mechanisms for expanding cooperation, opportunities for project localisation, and the development of joint initiatives to provide the population with modern and affordable medicines.

The participation of Solopharm representatives in the business dialogue made it possible to exchange experience with colleagues from Russia and Cuba, discuss current trends in the pharmaceutical industry, and outline potential areas for further cooperation.

Solopharm continues to develop international collaboration, supporting a professional dialogue with representatives of government bodies, the scientific community, and industry organisations in order to improve the availability of modern medicines and advance the pharmaceutical industry.
